Reflection:
When and how are polygons used in sports? A soccer pitch is in the shape of a rectangle and that is a quadrilateral. It is used so that they can split the pitch in half so each team has a fair amount of space to play in. If the pitch was not split evenly then it would not be fair for one team.
Give one example of your specific quadrilateral's usefulness in real life. Then explain why it is useful. The Rhombus is used on the Brazilian flag, it is also used as the shape of certain buildings. It can be used for style and looks but can also help the building support.
How are the geometric theorems you learned about quadrilaterals applied in architecture? They can be applied in architecture because the architect might need to use a certain polygon in a way that requires them to calculate something using the theorem and or postulate.
What did you find most challenging about this unit? What I found most challenging in this unit was the theorems and postulates we used because it is hard to remember the names of every theorem and postulate that we used.
What is one area of this unit you would like to learn more about? I would like to learn more about why there are polygons in sports and why the polygon is used in that specific way and not another. Polygons are used a lot in sports and I would like to know why they are used in that way.
