Triangles Evidence WIX
-
Choose two rules, theorems, or properties of triangles that you feel comfortable writing about in detail. With these theorems, write full sentences answering the following questions.
A. What is this rule, theorem, or property used for?
B. Explain, step by step, how to solve a problem using the rule, theorem, or property you chose.
C. Show a real life example of this.
The Pythagorean Theorem is used to find the hypotenuse of right triangles, the pythagorean theorem formula is a^2+b^2=c^2. In order to solve the formula you need to square the length of one of hypotenuse leg and add it by the other hypotenuse leg squared then when you square root the answer of the 2 squared hypotenuse legs you need to square root the answer and you will find the length of the hypotenuse. The pythagorean theorem is used to find many things such as how big a television screen is and also how long one corner of a soccer field to the corner on the other side and other half. If you would like to find how big your T.V. screen is, you need to measure its length by its height. Once you find the height you need to square it and you also need to square the length. When you finish squaring the height and length you need to add them together and square root the answer finding the hypotenuse which is how big your screen is. Overall, the pythagorean theorem is used in our everyday lives and is used all around us.
The SSS theorem is used to find out whether 2 triangles are congruent. If the 3 side of a triangle are equal to 3 sides of another triangle then they are congruent. If you would like to find out whether 2 triangles are congruent you need to find out the distances of all the sides in a triangle and if they measure the same they are congruent. This can be used in architecture because when you need more than one triangle to be congruent you can use this theorem. When making a roof on a building that has a triangles on the roof, it would be better if they are congruent so the building is even. Lastly the SSS theorem is normally used in architecture and a few other things in our everyday lives.
