Vectors and scalars are very similar but different at the same time. The only thing that is different between a vector and a scalar is that a vector has a direction and a scalar does not. A vector is an object that has a speed and a direction, but a scalar has a speed with no direction. In order to find a vector you must already know it’s direction and then divide the total distance it traveled by the time it took. If you would like to find a scalar you must find the objects total speed.

Vectors can be found in 2 dimensions by using arrows, the length of the arrow that each vector has will affect how big the vector number will be. The vector's direction is shown by where the arrow is pointing. If you add 2 vector lines together they will form a pyramid, the last vector that closes the pyramid will be the total displacement of the object.
