Thermodynamics

Unit Overview: For students to learn the properties and rules of thermodynamics. They will gain understanding of the laws of thermodynamics as well as confirm the properties of thermodynamics through experiments. The students be able to accurately be able to represent these properties and characteristics through words or mathematical representations.

Personal Achievement: I learned a lot about how heat is transferred and how thermal energy works.

Enduring Understanding: The first law is that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred, the second law states that when work is done by heat flowing, the output work is always less than the amount of heat the flows.

Reflection on Progress Towards the Standards:

Strengths: Demonstrates the understanding for the laws of thermodynamics. This is a strength of mine because I understood the laws well and I was able to describe them easily.

Areas For Improvement: Develops reading literacy in science. This was an area I need to improve on because I had a bit of difficulty reading about the information in this unit.
