Answer the essential question:
What caused Christianity to split into Catholicism and Protestantism?
Martin Luther a German monk went to Rome and saw that everything that Rome was corrupt. After he saw how corrupt it was he went back to study more about religion. After he studied he decided that Christianity was not true and fair. He started spreading ideas to a lot of people, he told kings which then tried to help change it. Martin Luther also wrote the 95 theses and stuck on a church door and everyone saw it, he wrote 95 things that are wrong about selling indulgences. The kings and leaders then decided to make everyone Protestant and stopped communications with Rome and the Pope.

How does what we learned connect to the real world? What we learned connects to the real world because it teaches us about how religions form. This also connects to the real world because it shows how important religion is to many people and that if something is wrong it can cause conflicts among the people that follow the religion. New ideas and religions formed after the protestant reformation and this also connects the real world. This also allowed toleration of other religions which is connected to the real world.

Choose one piece of work that you completed this unit. What did you learn from this piece of work? Was it interesting? Was it challenging? Did it teach you a new skill? Did it reinforce skills you already have? I did a presentation about the reformation which I think is very good and is probably my best piece of work in this unit.
